NextEra Energy, one of the world's largest producers of wind and solar power, has agreed to acquire fellow US electric utility Dominion Energy in a deal that will create the world's largest regulated electric utility business. Dominion Energy brings a particularly important asset to the combined company: its $11.5 billion Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project, one of the largest offshore wind developments in the United States.
